1	Is the Open and Distance Learning (ODL) Programme of Vels Institute of Science, Technology and Advanced Studies(VISTAS) is recognized by University Grants Commission(UGC)-Distance Education Bureau(DEB)?	Yes, the VISTAS ODL Academic Programmes are recognized by UGC-DEB vide letter no.F.No.30-3/2023 (DEB-II) dated 22^nd November 2023. Students can also refer UGC-DEB website: https://deb.ugc.ac.in.
2	Is the ODL Programme of VISTAS are eligible for Employment and Higher Studies?	Yes, the VISTAS offers ODL Programme as per UGC-DEB norms and as per Tamilnadu G.O. 107 dated 18.08.2009, hence all the VISTAS ODL Programmes are eligible for Employment and Higher Studies.
3	Are the ODLProgrammesare Equivalent to the Regular Programmes?	Yes, All the ODL Programmes offered by recognisedHigher Education Institutions (HEIs) are considered as equivalent to the Regular Programmes as per UGC’s PUBLIC NOTICE – F.No.1-9/2018 (DEB-I) dated 23^rd February 2018
4	Does the VISTAS arrange for Placement to ODL Students?	Yes, VISTAS will make arrangements for placement to ODL students also.
5	Whether the Personal Contact Programme(PCP) has been conducted by VISTAS for ODL students?	Yes, every weekends the PCP has been scheduled and ODL students can attend the PCP. Attendance is not compulsory.
6	Are the End Semester Examinations (ESE) conducted outside Tamilnadu State by the VISTAS for ODL students?	No, End Semester Examinations are conducted only within the State of Tamilnadu
7	Is there anyLearner Support Centres(LSCs), VISTAS have for the ODL Programme?	No, As per UGC-DEB regulations, VISTAS operates its ODL Programme in the main Campus located at Pallavaram, Chennai.
8	What is the Eligibility Criteria for the UG and MBAProgramme?	UG: For the UG Programmes [B.Com, BBA,BA(Hons)-Economics and BA(Hons)-English] the eligibility criteria is“Candidates who have passed in the12^th Standard or its equivalent/12^th from NIOS, SIOS, RIOS or 3 Years Diploma from DOTE or 2 Years ITI(NCVT)” MBA: Any BachelorDegree from the recognizedUniversity/ Institutions or its equivalent
9	Can I download the ODL Admission Application Form from the VISTAS Website?	Yes, you can download ODL Admission Application Form from the VISTAS website :www.vistascdoe.in
10	Whether Online ODL Admission facility is available in VISTAS?	Yes, Online ODL Admission facility is available. Please visit: www.vistasonline.in for ODL online admission
11	How does the Admission Process take place in VISTAS ODL Programme?	Interested students can visit VISTAS website and click “Admission -2024” From that, you will be guided through the application process and after providing the datastudents. After completion of application the students have to make the payment through online. After preview students can download the filled in application and receipt also.
12	Whether VISTAS will accept Demand Draft for Payment ofProgrammeFee?	Yes. If students are not familiar with online payment, they are permitted to pay the tuition fee by way of demand draft drawn infavour of “VISTAS-CDOE”, payable at Chennai.
13	Do VISTAS keep the Original Certificates for ODL Admission?	No, As per UGC guidelines, the Original Certificates will not remain with VISTAS. However for verification purpose(if any), the Original Certificates need to be submitted .
14	Whether Aadhar Identity proof is must for ODL Admission?	Yes, Aadhar Identity proof is must and the copy of Aadhar ID to be submitted along with ODL Admission Application Form.
15	Whether Academic Bank of Credit(ABC) is must for ODL Admission?	Yes, students have to create ABC ID and submit the ABC ID number to VISTAS along with ODL Admission Application Form.
